ACC moves tournaments over Confederate flag

I went to Myrtle Beach back in 2003. I decided then that I may never go back. Why? My girlfriend (now wife) and I were looking for a bite to eat on the Myrtle Beach strip. We stopped at a local spot, took a seat and waited for 15 minutes with no service. Us being young and not very aware of our surroundings started to look around, look around. What did we find? A bar full of white bikers and the South Carolina state flag on the back wall. Now I’m not saying that there is not racism in the peach state, but I had never faced those types of stares until I set foot in South Carolina.

With that being said, it warms my heart to see that Myrtle beach has lost the ACC Basketball tournament from 2011-13. There is no room for racism nor racially offensive symbols in this country. Maybe South Carolina can wake up, but I doubt it.

In other pertinent news, Rasheed Wallace is headed to bean town. I think it’s a good idea and I wouldn’t be surprised if this lands them in the finals. Cleveland has a lot of work to do. Dallas did their due diligence and re-sign Jason Kidd to what might be his last NBA contract. I wish him luck but Dallas may be lucky to make the playoffs with their lack of defense.

R.I.P Steve McNair. It’s all starting to come together and hopefully it’ll all be done soon.

NOT ENTHUSED.

I’m not enthused with Jeff Teague. I don’t know why I’m not. I’m just not.

If Orlando had not already killed it’s chemistry before by playing Jameer Nelson in the finals, they certainly have killed it with it gaining an aging Vince Carter. The guy is one of the greatest losers of all time. I love his talent but he could have been so much more and he has been so much less. Disappointing is just one word to describe him and his career. We’ll see how this experiment works.

Shaq and Cleveland I dig. It’s a good fit with players that know how to play with other talent on the floor. Is it enough? I don’t think so but the off-season has just started and I’m sure they’ll attempt to make some other deals.

How about Minnesota drafting not one but two points? Not to mention they have Sebastian Telfair on the squad already. I don’t know what kind of basketball they plan to play, but it should be interesting. I hope they fail miserably, but that’s me and my fundamentals not appreciating the basics of team building being thrown out of the window. Good luck with that.

I couldn’t believe the call I got around 6:30 this evening informing me that THE KING OF POP was gone. WOW. Yet another artist that I didn’t get a chance to see perform live. He’ll be missed by many and dismissed by almost as many, if not more. I’ll have to hook up some music for the show as a dedication.

RIP M.J.

Don't Be That Girl.

Don’t be that girl. You know that girl that is giving you all the signs. The one that keeps batting her eyes. The one that does that basic instinct type leg cross right in front of you. YOU KNOW THAT GIRL! The one that keeps licking her lips and talking seductively. The one that gets you in the VIP and say’s “That’ll be 75 bucks”. Yep, don’t chop and screw me, PLEASE! I beg of you! I don’t think I can take it anymore!

If you are not going to go get me Jamal Crawford, don’t talk about it. I don’t want to build my hopes up. I don’t want to envision a stone cold scorer that isn’t afraid of big moments, taking big shots, hitting big shots, when you aren’t sure that you can give him to me. If we had that guy, you know, THAT DUDE, that dude that isn’t afraid to go directly at Lebron and the likes, it would take the Hawks to a WHOLE-NOTHER-LEVEL.

If you can’t get the deal done for Shaq in Cleveland, I don’t want to hear it. I’s tired boss. I’s tired of being led to the river and not being able to drink. I want Lebron to get a ring. I want Cleveland to be in the championship series. I would like to see Shaq get another ring to one up Kobe if for no other reason. Don’t mess with my emotions. I’m a Fan. I swear, I’m going to stop watching and paying attention to all of this stuff. . . until the deals get done.

YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN! ! !

The Milwaukee Bucks may have traded Richard Jefferson to the San Antonio Spurs for Fabricio Oberto, Bruce Bowen and Kurt Thomas. I say may because you never know until the deal goes down if the deal is gonna go down. Then the Bucks deal Oberto to Detroit for young power forward Amir Johnson. What initially seemed like a WHAT
deal is now coming full circle and is more like a AHH deal. The Bucks might be working with a plan to resign Charlie V but if it falls through, well they have a good young power forward to step in and possibly produce.

What is BOSTON thinking? I tried to told ya’ll that boy Danny Ainge didn’t know what he was doing but like Tony Montana said “YOU WOULDN’T LISTEN!” Danny boy is rumored to have Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen on the block. Now I know Rajon has been sometimey. I know that Ray got ghost against Orlando in game seven. But this is ridiculous. Kevin Garnett put that whole deal together to get Ray and himself into bean town to win a championship and now Danny is getting all Pete Babcock on em. Now he wants to leave his imprint on a team that has made it back to the top without him. Danny is gonna get fired yet, watch what I tell ya.

The Braves are in the midst of a big home stand with some big time teams. Up first, The Yankees. Game one, has gone to the Braves, let’s see how things go. One to build on, I don’t know but hopefully it’s a sign of good things to come . . . hopefully.

More Moves than M.C. Hammer!

Kevin McHale was a great post man. He had more moves than M.C. Hammer on the post. ANYONE. He was just a down right nasty post player. That doesn’t mean that he should have been qualified to be in anyone’s front office.

He was with the Minnesota Timberwolves for 15 seasons. During his tenure he made some of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen upper management make in the sporting industry we call the NBA, except for Pete Babcock but I digress. With that being the case, he still built a team that competed with the L.A. Lakers for the Western Conference Crown in the early millennium.

Kevin McHale was fired today. As much as I am a proponent of people loosing their jobs when they don’t perform, I kinda hate to see him get pushed out of the door. The players loved him and he helped develop Kevin Garnet into the beast that won a championship in Boston. It seems as though with the bigs on that team, their should’ve been room for him within the organization in some aspect. All in all, they both loose. Yo Atlanta, I wonder if Kevin would be interested in working with Al Horford?

Boy, I can’t believe it’s been this long since my last blog. Sham dame, but I’m back up on my grind.

Dante Stallworth. All I have to say about that is that he handled his business correctly and he has been rewarded for doing that. It was a terrible mistake but by stepping up and doing what was necessary he may have saved his NFL career and his family’s future. If the victim’s family can take the agreement, who are we to disagree. But this is yet more reason for dog fighting charges to be re-examined.

Lakers. I want to thank the greatest of all time. Without him, none of the last four Laker championships would be possible. The man that had the vision, the grit and the testicular fortitude to will this really good L.A. squad to a championship. I am talking about none other than PHIL JACKSON. Yes, he is the G.O.A.T. Who else did you think I was talking about?

June 9th. I told ya'll I was back up on my Grind!

Bobby Cox might not go down as the greatest in history, but that’s ok. He’s our manager. He’s the players manager. For 28 seasons he has put up with our fickly fans and stood in there. He took the heat win he didn’t win. He basked in the glory of winning that lone World Series. Could there have been more, sure. But in the same breathe, we didn’t have the win the one we did. Out of all of the chances the Braves had at a championship, they were only the best team two or three times. One out of three is batting .333, right? Bobby Cox, one of the greatest of all time in my book.

I will not talk about B. Farve in our blog. Or least I won’t talk about that much. Next

Vick was in the Norfolk courthouse Tuesday with his fiancĂ©e, Kijafa Frink for a hearing on his efforts to draft a new bankruptcy plan. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank Santoro told Vick he needed to work a little harder on his plan seeing as though he didn’t want to sell at least one of his two million dollar homes and he still has a couple of extra vehicle’s laying around. That’s why we all need to stay within our means, including myself, because being in debt is bad for your health. The judge also was concerned that the plan depended on Vick's return to the NFL. That concerns me as well because you can’t depend on playing in a league in which it’s a privilege to be in that league in the first place. But he will get back in the league unless he does more stupid stuff, which he may very well do.

Speaking of stupid stuff, Pac Man Jones will not be re-sign by the Cowboys . . . so who will? The RAIDERS! I think that’s his only hope right now. The Raiders or the Lions are about the only places I can see Pac Man landing. I hope he can get his mind right and get back in the game. Gotta stay down for the A-Town.
And with that, deuces!
